Bibliophiles and fair-weather bookworms alike will enjoy recommendation-driven app BookYap, the brainchild of local entrepreneur Hallie Steube.

It’s kind of like Netflix and eHarmony in the way it connects users but instead of movies and summer flings, this custom designed Facebook, desktop and mobile app will pair you with your next favorite book.

Steube and incubator parent company Sandbox Industries came to us in March 2010 with the idea so we built her the data collecting algorithm, designed a back end easy for her to use and a friendly user interface where users can create quirky profiles based on reviews (or “yaps”) and 25 personality types (history buff, smarty pants, creative cat, hopeless romantic, etc.).
