EPIC brainstorms fresh ideas for philanthropy

On Friday night an “EPIC” group of problem solvers and designers assembled at Doejo HQ to gather creative ideas for the Lincoln Park Community Shelter.

EPIC, short for Engaging Philanthropy, Inspiring Creatives, is a non profit organization that creates plans, programs and marketing materials for non profits centered around families, children and education. Over the course of eight weeks, volunteers from the design and advertising industry meet at a host location to devise a successful plan for their chosen organization. This week, Doejo had the pleasure of hosting an EPIC ideation session.

What do you get when you take a group of civic-minded design thinkers and give them beer, sandwiches and a set of big questions on a Friday night?

I was privledged to moderate this EPIC ideation session for Lincoln Park Community Shelter as part of @AIGA Chicago’s Design Week at Doejo. Our group was made up of an outstanding set of problem solvers and design thinkers that rallied around some “how might we” questions that are getting after the volunteer experience. Excited for LPCS’s next steps. Thanks to everyone who came out after a full week of work to roll up your sleeves for LPCS and EPIC.
