Help the Academy for Global Citizenship build its net-positive dream school

The Academy of Global Citizenship, an innovative Chicago public charter school, is building the first net-positive school in Illinois. Doejo client AGC hopes to change the way our society educates future generations by empowering students with the knowledge and value of environmental stewardship and global awareness. In all, this core mission disrupts our increasingly outdated educational system.

The AGC is currently launching the first public phase of their net positive energy campaign on crowdfunding site IndieGoGo. The funds from this campaign will go towards a “dream school” with a campus that will create more energy than it uses, serving as a hub for educational community collaboration while housing seven acres of urban agriculture. If you get a chance to look at their plans, it’s quite inspiring, to say the least.

With this new campus, the AGC is producing a replicable model for learning in the 21st century that focuses on sustainable living, student-lead learning and global communities. This campus will also act as a “third teacher” (alongside the teachers and the parents), integrating sustainable practices directly into the learning environment.

Doejo has worked with the school in the past, updating its website and helping develop a marketing campaign effectively explaining this dream campus plan. We also helped showcase the AGC’s current campus though email marketing and print design work—and had a lot of fun doing it!

A true leader, The AGC treats its students as critical agents of change in the community. The impassioned teachers and organizers there are helping people change the way they think and feel about the public education system by creating a movement. The non-profit is currently trying to raise $50,000 in funding to help secure the land for their net-positive school—and you can help by making a donation for a slew of great rewards on IndieGoGo.
