Last night Bow Truss Coffee Roasters was packed to the rafters in anticipation of Aaron Draplin’s “Tall Tales From a Large Man” talk. Guests sipped on “wet hopped” amber ale from Strange Pelican Brewing Co. and snacked on savory tarts from Rustic Tart while waiting for the man himself to take the stage. 

Draplin blew us away with his passionate and all around magical talk on what inspires him, how he started his own design company and which designs he is most prideful of. He also had a room of designers on the edge of their seats heeding sound advice on work ethic along with some incredible client stories. After the talk, guests perused a table full of Draplin Design Co. branded merchandise. And from the debut of his Chicago poster to the Illinois County Fair edition of Field Notes, Draplin had all the guests lined up. After chatting one-on-one with Draplin, our guests had the chance to grab a limited edition Draplin Does Doejo poster before they made their way into the dark, cold and rainy night.
