New Chicago Athletic Clubs site launched

We just launched the Chicago Athletic Clubs site this week—check out the gym’s new online home!

The Client: Chicago Athletic Clubs. Starting in Evanston, IL. in 1980, and now expanded to the Lincoln Park, Lakeview, Lincoln Square, Wicker Park, West Loop and Southport neighborhoods of Chicago. This club is known for it’s luxury amenities, personal trainers, group fitness glasses, pools, rock-climbing walls, basketball courts, kids clubs, massage facilities—essentially sparing no expense—all while maintaining an urban loft/ community gym ambiance.

The Challenge: Redesign site into one CAC branded company (lose the individual LVAC, LSAC acronyms). Improve online membership conversion, build an online sense of community for existing members and increase awareness of personal training and full breadth of group training classes.

CAC engaged Doejo for: Art Direction, Brand Integration, Copywriting, Wireframing, Front / Backend, User Experience, Social Media Integration, Photography, and Information Architecture.

Doejo’s Solutions: Refocused the copy and branding into one CAC art direction/ narrative/ voice. Created strong personal trainers and group workout sections. Researched and told the story of each gyms’ building history, created a partnership page highlighting CAC’s sponsoring of local schools, charities, dance companies, theaters and sports teams. Built social-media-integrated Meet-Ups tool for members to coordinate with workout buddies. Launched a “Take a Tour” photo-heavy landing page for first-time visitors.

In the first full day after launching, the new CAC site received 2,310 unique visitors and initiated 54 new memberships online.
