Not dissimilar to a Nest smart-thermostat, Emmit was targeted at the residential market to save homeowners money on their electric bills. Emmit monitors electricity usage for every appliance in the house, and a homeowner accesses this data through a web portal and mobile app.
In early 2012, Canadian-based technology startup Emmit Labs came to Doejo in need of a brand identity for this product which was still in the R&D phase. Doejo came up with the name, logo, identity, web design, packaging, and a motion graphics video explaining the benefits.
4 years later, they have pivoted towards the commercial market, and now it is a platform for measuring energy savings in buildings. Emmit Labs also finances energy retrofits.
